Nicolle's childhood on a farm did not prevent her from growing up influenced by technology. Her father was a computer technician for many years and represented the gateway to the universe of games. At six, she played Quake for the first time, a bloody game that would reveal her aptitude for FPS (first-person shooter). Others caught her attention, including the quieter ones she used to have fun with her sister, from The Sims 2 to kids' games. But her real taste was for shooting games. "Quake was the basis for many games and my professional career," she says.

When she was only six years old, Nicolle Merhy approached the school principal where she studied and asked if she could sing the National Anthem at the festival's opening. She was given the go-ahead and did so in front of her parents and the other students. This episode does not reveal a precocious talent for music but rather remarkable traits of her personality: proactivity, a taste for communication, a vocation for leadership, and the courage to take risks in new challenges.
